Carra: I got help from a psychologist

-

LIVERPOOL legend Jamie Carragher has opened up about the pressures of being a Premier League footballer in the wake of Aaron Lennon’s breakdown.

Writing in his newspaper column, the TV pundit, 39, said he “endured” rather than enjoyed life at the top and decided to see a psychologist. He revealed: “There was a point during the peak years of my career when I visited for two or three months.

“If games had gone badly, I would take things home with me. I’d be snappy at my kids. I carried the fear of failure into every game and always had the sense of having a point to prove.”

Man United legend Ryan Giggs, 43, has also revealed he saw a psychiatrist after his career ended, saying he felt “worthless”.
