Gay rap for Vigo coach

- BY SIMON MULLOCK

CELTA VIGO coach Eduardo Berizzo has been urged to prove he no longer holds homophobic views prior to his side’s trip to Manchester.

Berizzo, who played for Marseille, Celta and Cadiz, once explained his decision to leave French football.

Speaking in 2000, the 47-year-old said: “A bunch of faggots is what you have in French football. There are so many homosexual players there, they touch your thighs, your bum... I feel disgusted when a homosexual shares the same shower and stares at one’s bum with desire.”

Lord Herman Ouseley, chair of equality organisation ‘Kick It Out’, said: “The very least he could do is apologise for the grossly offensive comments.”
