Let’s not be history

- By MIKE WALTERS

JAMIE WARD has warned Nottingham Forest to “stop living in the past”.

The two-time European Cup winners must beat Ipswich today – or match Blackburn’s result at Brentford – to avoid slipping into League One.

But Northern Ireland winger Ward believes Forest have been weighed down by their history and need to look to the future under Mark Warburton.

“That’s the problem – this club is all about history rather than the current players,” said Ward (below).

“We need to start worrying about the current players because you don’t hear anything about them.

“There’s a photo at the training ground of Jurgen Klinsmann swapping a shirt with someone – no disrespect, but why do we want to see Jurgen Klinsmann in a Nottingham Forest shirt? How is he relevant to this club?

“There are no pictures of the current crop, none of the club captain who has been here 10 years, nothing like that, which is frustrating.”
