Alzheimer’s bus hits road for tragic OAP

- BY EMMA NOLAN

LAUNCH Helen Mcentee TD THE Alzheimer Society of Ireland’s mobile bus will be hitting Dublin and Kilkenny to support people living with dementia and their carers.

Launched by Minister of State for Mental Health & Older people Helen Mcentee, it is run by trained staff and volunteers.

It is funded by the Peggy Mangan Foundation, set up by the pensioner’s family after her tragic death.

The Alzheimer’s sufferer, 67, went missing from her South Dublin home while walking her dog in 2013.

Despite huge searches, it was four days before her body was found. Her pet Casper never left her side.

The bus will be at Omni Park Shopping Centre in Santry, North Dublin, on Thursday and at The Hub, Kilkenny, next weekend.
