Joshua to quit mum’s flat for a luxury home
“He knows it’s a big decision and he wants to make sure he buys the right place.”
Joshua, 26 – being tipped to earn €1billion over his career – still regards mum Yeta’s former council flat in Golders Green, north-west London, as home.
However, he did rent the €93,000-a-month mansion in posh St John’s Wood for a spell.
The home – decorated with chandeliers and paintings by French artist Viviane Cisinski – was bought for €31million by South African diamond trader Walter Hennig, 44, in 2012. He is the son of controversial businessman Oloff Hennig, who is best known for his friendship with Ronnie Biggs, the Great Train Robber. The luxury home includes a salt grotto as part of a state-of-the-art spa, gym and indoor pool complex, plus a wine cellar, cinema and two staff bedrooms. The master suite, Joshua got €17m for Klitschko fight with his and hers dressing areas, occupies the first floor.
Dad-of-one Joshua bought his mum’s flat for €202,000 after turning pro in 2013.
It is understood he also paid for a €580,000 flat in nearby Finchley for his ex Nicole Osbourne, 27, and son Joseph, 18-months. The source added: “AJ is a down-to-earth guy and isn’t getting carried away. But beating Klitschko catapulted him into a different league and he’s decided it’s time to branch out into a place of his own.
“He has a large budget and wants to buy somewhere he can call home for years to come. He won’t be rushed and is determined to make the right choice.”
