Israel denies terror link in killing of cop
ISRAEL says it has found no evidence of ISIS involvement in two attacks by three Palestinians that killed an Israeli policewoman, despite the group’s claim of responsibility.
Palestinian militant factions also denied the terror group was involved in the assaults in Jerusalem on Friday, in which a second officer was injured.
Police spokeswoman Luba Simri said: “It was a local cell.”
The SITE intelligence monitoring group said it was the first time Islamic State had claimed responsibility for an attack inside Israeli-controlled territory.
The three armed attackers were shot dead.
