Coins traded in line with EU

ALTHOUGH the money became the currency of eurozone countries including Ireland on January 1, 1999, it was not until January 1, 2002 the state began to withdraw pound coins and notes. All Irish coins and banknotes, from the start of the Free State may be exchanged at the Central Bank in Dublin for euros.
