Call for more police after bomb scares

A COUNCILLOR has called for additional Garda resources after two bomb scares in her area.

Ten houses were evacuated at Shangan Green in Ballymun, Co Dublin, at around 6.30am on Friday.

Gardai and an army explosive ordnance disposal team sealed off the area over a suspicious device later declared a hoax.

Residents in Balcurris Park were also evacuated on Friday as a result of another alert.
