BBC wouldn’t let gays date, says O’grady
PAUL O’grady has taken a swipe at the BBC saying the broadcaster would never allow gay people on Blind Date.
Paul, 62, is hosting a reboot of the show made famous by Cilla Black.
Screened on Channel 5 last night, the dating show includes same-sex couples for the first time.
Paul said: “Channel 5 were insistent on it.
“It’s 2017, you’ve got to educate people. I think it’s really brave of them to make this step, because the others wouldn’t.
“Imagine the BBC. It wouldn’t happen.”
Paul told the Gay Times all dates would be treated the same, regardless of who was on them.
He added: “If you don’t like it, turn over. That has always been my attitude.”
