Netflix killer ‘coerced into confession’
A YOUNG man whose conviction for rape and murder was documented in the Netflix series Making a Murderer could be set for release or retrial.
The decision comes after federal judges backed a ruling on Thursday that Brendan Dassey, 27, was coerced into confessing.
The then 16-year-old was jailed for life 10 years ago after he made a confession that he played a part in the murder of 25-yearold photographer Teresa Halbach on Halloween two years earlier.
Her remains were found in an incineration barrel on property belonging to his uncle, Steven Avery, in Wisconsin.
