Rebels hand over Dutch journalists
TWO Dutch journalists kidnapped in Colombia last weekend have been freed by their abductors.
Derk Bolt and Eugenio Follender were handed over yesterday to a delegation from the Colombian Ombudsman’s Office, the agency said in a tweet.
National Liberation Army rebels said they had freed the men on Friday but later retracted the announcement.
Peace talks took place between the government and the rebels who were heavily armed.
The Dutch pair were finally handed over in a rural area of the Catatumbo region, near the border with Venezuela.
