IT’S BANVILLE TO THE FOUR
WEXFORD held on for victory as PJ Banville’s firepower proved the key to victory at the Gaelic Grounds yesterday.
Banville (left) kicked four points for his side – including three super scores in the second-half – while Limerick kicked three wides in added-time as they went in search of an equaliser.
Defeat to Carlow in the Leinster championship had the Model men low on confidence ahead of this clash, but they now enter round two of the qualifiers.
But this could just as easily have been a Limerick victory – Iain Corbett blasted his first-half penalty over the bar, while Josh Ryan and Danny Neville came close to goals in the closing stages.
