Footage of plane crash on highway

DRAMATIC footage has emerged showing the moment a plane crashed in the middle of a busy US motorway before bursting into flames.

The small aircraft, carrying two passengers, crashed near John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California, yesterday morning.

Two people, a man and a woman, in their early sixties, were taken to hospital with serious injuries after being pulled from the wreckage.

Another clip shows a blood-splattered man being helped from the plane while explaining to rescuers that two people were onboard.
