Adele: It’s too soon for a concert to help victims

-

ADELE has told friends it is “too soon” to take part in a concert in aid of Grenfell victims while relatives are still in shock. The revelation comes after she was forced to cancel her last two shows at Wembley Stadium this weekend due to vocal damage. Adele, 29, who grew up in Tottenham, North London, has joined volunteers at the fire scene several times with husband Simon Konecki. She has also visited Chelsea firefighters and urged fans at her gigs to donate to the Grenfell fund.

One relief chief said: “Adele has been simply amazing with the support she has given to those affected by Grenfell.

“She was asked for her view on staging a large charity concert in aid of victims, with Hyde Park being a possible venue.

“But Adele made it quite clear she did not think a concert was the right idea at this time. She said, ‘It is too soon. Maybe next year’.”
