Ships crash in Channel

A TANKER and a cargo ship collided off Dover in the Channel yesterday.

Seafrontier – bound for Guatemala with 40,000 tonnes of petrol – was left drifting with a hole above the waterline. No fuel was reported to be leaking.

The Huayan Endeavour, which was not loaded, was en route to Nigeria when the ships collided at 1am.

The French maritime authorities said: “There are no injuries to report on either vessel. The Seafrontier is being monitored.”
