The Dragons’ Den star, who is married to legendary jockey AP Mccoy, has made millions in the pharmaceuticals firm she founded with her dad Michael Burke.

Now it seems this tough work ethic runs in the family as her little girl Eve is displaying her own entrepreneurial spirit.

The proud mum, 40, told the Irish Sunday Mirror: “I’d love to see the kids in the business. Even now when Eve and Archie [Chanelle and AP’S three-year-old son] come to Ireland on school holidays, Eve will come up to the office with me.

PAY

“She’ll work at reception, at the post and she’ll be filing. “She has an hourly rate – in sterling she tells me, not euros. She’s unreal.” The Galway woman, who is this year’s Style Ambassador for the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby festival, opened up about life at home since AP retired from racing two years ago. Chanelle said that while her other half does get nostalgic about his legendary career, he’s also enjoying being able to spend more time with their family. She revealed: Chanelle and AP on red carpet

The family at Buckingham Palace “There’s no question he misses it. He’s two years retired now but he’s very accepting, he’s not bitter or angry. “He’s very mindful that he was lucky to get out on his own terms and not through injury. There are jockeys who have been paralysed or have died through it. “AP is a realistic. He’d say to me, ‘It’s gone, it’s all about going forward’. That’s his mindset, he just gets on with it. “He wouldn’t be the type who would live in the past. There’s definitely days when he misses it and feels quite nostalgic and I think it’s more on the bigger racing days.” Chanelle told how Eve, who was seven when Co Antrim-born AP quit the sport, kept laughing when the whole family would sit down for dinner together. She revealed: “When he retired, for the first month Eve just kept giggling every time when he was at the table. “She just thought it was so weird.” “I didn’t know what AP was going to be like or how he was going to cope. I don’t think that he knew himself. “The allergic feeling [for me] hasn’t set in yet, but we’re getting on well which is really nice. “It’s lovely to be able to do more things together, especially for the kids. “It’s the little things like being able to sit down at the table and have a family dinner. sharon.mcgowan@irishmirror.ie
