Heroin gang is jailed after 18,000 deals

GANG members who made 18,000 drug deals in five months have been jailed for a total of 66 years.

The gang, which supplied heroin and crack cocaine in Blackpool, was known as ‘Scouse Macca’.

Run from a single mobile phone that received up to 357 calls a day, they drove drugs from Liverpool to a safe house in the resort.

The organisati­on was smashed by a five-month police operation in 2015.

Boss John Paul Hodson, 32, of Liverpool, was jailed for nine years at Preston Crown Court, and 14 others were also sentenced.

Det Chief Insp Becky Smith said: “Their activities brought misery.”
