Gove rips up fishing rights for EU boats

-

BREXITEER Michael Gove is to stop French and German fishing boats trawling to within six miles of Britain’s coast.

The Tory Environment Secretary is ripping up the 1964 London Fisheries Convention.

The agreement gives France, Germany, Belgium, Ireland and Holland the right to fish between six and 12 miles off UK shores.

Now Mr Gove will announce he is pulling out of that deal and the EU’S Common Fisheries Policy in two years.

It means that after Brexit no European vessel will be able to net British fish without permission.
