Look what happens when Liz meets a snake
Terror as serpent slithered towards helpless Damian
The actress and model jumped over a table and decapitated the serpent with an axe before it could sink its fangs into a helpless Damian.
Liz, 52, likened her swashbuckling heroics to something from The Three Musketeers.
Damian was just a baby at the time and Liz recalled: “Once, when we were in Spain, a snake slithered towards his Moses basket and I leapt over a table like d’artagnan and cut its head off with an axe. Note to others: never get between a lioness and her cubs.”
Liz, star of The Royals, revealed the episode in a magazine interview about motherhood. Damian – 15-year-old son of US businessman Steve Bing, 52 – bears a striking resemblance to his mum. Liz previously dated actor Hugh Grant, 56 – Damian’s godfather – and was wed to Indian textile heir Arun Nayar, 52.
Liz said: “My mother and my sister helped raise my son and he adores them. And his godfathers too. I basically just copied my own mother, who I thought did a brilliant job of raising me, my brother and sister. She’s been a very big part of my son’s life.
“He’s had to endure a wealth of silly nicknames. D-man is the only one he’d allow me to tell you. We cackle together constantly, mostly at bad photos of me.”
Asked about embarrassing mum moments, she said: “Thinking he’s going to drown every time he’s in the sea and bellowing for him every five seconds.”
And of the attribute she would like to pass on to him: “How to survive swimming with sharks – the human ones. But he’s also taught me that men are simpler than ladies. Food, cuddles and sleep seem to keep them happy.” LIZ Hurley has told of the heartstopping moment she saved her son’s life by chopping off a snake’s head as it slithered towards him.
