Tom’s in hunt for a pair of Wolves

-

NEW Leeds boss Thomas Christiansen is set to launch a £4.5million double raid on Wolves for defenders Danny Batth and Matt Doherty.

Christiansen (above) wants them after missing out on Swansea’s Kyle Bartley and losing Charlie Taylor to Burnley.

Batth, 26, will be allowed to leave for £2m following the signings of Willy Boly, on loan from Porto, Rio Ave’s Roderick Miranda, and free agent Ryan Bennett.

Doherty, 25, valued at £2.5m, is under threat after the arrival of Barry Douglas from Turkish club Konyaspor. FRANK DE BOER wants to take Thomas Vermaelen to Crystal Palace.

The new Eagles boss is keen on the former Arsenal defender who is out-of-favour at Barcelona.

The 31-year-old Belgium international spent last season on loan at Roma and De Boer wants him as his first big signing.

Vermaelen still has two years to run on his deal at the Nou Camp, but that has not put off Dutchman De Boer.

The player’s representatives have indicated he would be open to a return both to the Premier League and to London.

De Boer has also asked Barca about their plans for keeper Jasper Cillessen.
