Foxes in hunt for old glory

- BY NEIL MOXLEY

CRAIG SHAKESPEARE has urged his Leicester City history-makers to be a thorn in the side of the Premier League’s big guns once again.

Shakespeare led the Foxes clear of the drop zone last season, following Claudio Ranieri’s sacking.

Now, he is looking for a return to the glory days of the Foxes’ 2016 fairy-tale title success.

He said: “The top seven were the ones who changed their managers and spent heavily in the transfer market. They have made it more difficult for the likes of a club such as ours to win the Premier League again.

“But we are in it to win games of football – to be competitive – and not make it easy for the rich clubs.”

Man City striker Kelechi Iheanacho is expected to join the club this week, following Vicente Iborra from Seville and Harry Maguire from Hull City.

“A top-half finish is realistic,” Shakespeare said.
