Festival says sorry over Long queues

- BY OLIVER MILNE

LONGITUDE organisers apologised yesterday after festival-goers were forced to wait in long queues and some got crushed.

It took over an hour to access Dublin’s Marlay Park on Friday with people saying online it was “over crowded” and “badly managed”.

In a statement posted on Twitter, Festival Republic managing director Melvin Bell said: ”The opening hour of yesterday’s entry was not what I wanted.

“We had encouraged people to arrive early and they heeded the encouragement to a greater level than anticipated making that first hour difficult and I owe those caught up in it an apology.”

The three-day gig is proving a big hit and fans are lapping up the #3Live dance floor that looks and feels like being inside a giant disco ball.
