Farmer dies after cows trample him

-

A FARMER has been trampled to death by his own herd of cows.

John Savage, 82, had gone to look after one of the animals which had fallen ill when he was fatally injured.

He was flown from Green Farm near Hungerford, Berks, to hospital by air ambulance but could not be saved.

Michael Kington, a friend from beef farmer Mr Savage’s school days, said: “He called the vet out to one of his cows and he got kicked or knocked over, and then trampled.”

Police said there would probably be an inquest but they are treating his death as an accident.
