Dublin Horse Show reigns with Ladies Day

There’s just weeks to go until one of the most glamorous social event’s of the year kicks off. Ladies’ Day at the Dublin Horse Show is the longest running and most prestigiou­s such outing in the country.

This year the event, sponsored again by Dundrum Town Centre, will take place on Thursday, August 10, and features a number of categories including the Best Dressed Lady which is worth €10,000.

Other categories on the day include, Great Lengths’ Most Creative Hat, Louis Copeland’s Best Dressed Man and Longines’ Elegance Is An Attitude.

Judging the event will be stylist Courtney Smith, fashion editor Bairbre Power and Dundrum Town Centre personal stylist Lorna Weightman. Xpose presenter Cassie Stokes will be guest MC on the day. Last year Claire Murphy, from Tralee, Co Kerry took home the top prize wearing a Carol Kennelly Millinery (Tralee) headpiece and a Tina Griffin (Killorglin) designed dress making her dressed head to toe in designs from the Kingdom.

The 2017 Dublin Horse Show, which is now in its 144th year, is running from August 9 to 13 at the historic grounds of the Royal Dublin Society in Ballsbridg­e.

To enter the Ladies Day competitio­n, all you need to do is glam up and buy a general admission ticket for the Dublin Horse Show for the Thursday.

The Dundrum Town Centre Ladies Day registrati­on desk opens from 11.30am and will be located on the Band Lawn inside the RDS show grounds.
