AQARoyal Albert produced several commemorative wares for this memorable royal wedding in 1981. Your plates were hugely popular and, like many such wares, are kept well and in good condition. Today, the two plates in presentation boxes are worth €6 to €12. My Luke Skywalker figure from the original Star Wars movie in the late 1970s is still in the original packaging. It is slightly detached and quite tatty but you can see he hasn’t been removed and played with. Is he collectable today? Max Lewis, Gravesend, Kent Your Luke was part of the first 12 action figures. They were 3 3/4” tall and appeared after the release of Star Wars in 1978. The first batch featured an image of all 12 on the backcard. The Palitoy Luke is really rare today. Everybody opened and played with him. Your Luke sounds like he is in good condition, but the backcard is damaged. A truly mint figure in mint packaging can be worth €1,400, however a price of €230-€460 might be about right for yours. I have a postcard dated 1916 with “A Kiss From France” on it. It was sent by a relative of mine to his wife during the First World War. Could it have a value? Pete Hulme, via email Yours is most likely an embroidered silk postcard which was popular at the time and sent, like your example, home from France by British soldiers. Very few survive in good condition. Prices vary based on subject and state, but range from €6 to €60 and, occasionally, over €85. Yours will be worth something in that range, especially if it’s in good Mint Luke figures
