HE WENT THROUGH AFTER TITLE VICTORY

ANTONIO CONTE has admitted it has taken £33million striker Michy Batshuayi nearly a year to adjust to the Premier League.

The Belgium striker scored twice and made another for Willian as Chelsea overwhelmed their London rivals Arsenal in the Bird’s Nest Stadium.

It was a very comfortable victory as the Blues looked miles ahead of Arsenal, in terms of fitness and sharpness, but Batshuayi also proved his point after the arrival of £67m striker Alvaro Morata.

Batshuayi, whose winning goal at West Brom clinched the title last May, spent much of last season on the bench playing second fiddle to Diego Costa.

Morata seems certain to be first choice this time, but it is clear that Batshuayi is ready to fight for his place after destroying the Arsenal defence.

Conte said: “Last season was difficult for Michy, but he scored a very important goal for us, which gave us the title at West Brom.

“I think last season was a little bit difficult because it’s not easy to play in the Premier League. It’s a physical and very strong league.

“He did well here and is working very well,
