Shop pro gets dream ticket

BIRKDALE pro Gregg Pettersen didn’t earn a penny from the best day of his career – but the 38-year-old was over the moon after taking time off from working in the club shop to partner South African Shaun Norris as his marker.

Pettersen reckoned he shot “four or five over”.

He said: “I am married with two kids, so if I say it was the best day of my life then I might be in trouble. This was definitely my best day in golf, an amazing experience.”
