RORY’S PRAYING

-

leader back in tied 11th place.

More win and rain is forecast on the Lancashire coast today, but the Ulsterman also needs all 10 players in front of him to get blown away

“I need to pick myself up, play a good round tomorrow and hope for some bad weather and hope for some guys to struggle,” said Mcilroy.

“I need help from the leaders and bad weather. I’d need to post a really good score in bad conditions. Kuchar and Jordan are playing well.

“I feel today was an opportunity lost to get right in the mix. I need to just go out there and play well and try to limit the mistakes, and get off to a fast start again like I’ve done the last couple of days.

“My game is nearly there, but it’s not quite where I need it to be.”

Spieth shot a 65 to take a three-shot lead into the final round over his US Ryder Cup teammate Matt Kuchar. The 2015 Masters and US Open champion now has the chance to become the first player since Jack Nicklaus to win three different Majors before the age of 24.

“That would be incredible,” he said.
