Lift’s broke, Brooke

Corrie star saved by firefighters

- BY KIM CARR

CORRIE star Brooke Vincent had to be rescued by firemen after a lift jammed and trapped her for 40 minutes.

The actress had a fright when she got stuck as she headed out for the night from her luxury hotel on Friday night. A source said: “Brooke was looking forward to her evening when suddenly the lift she was in got jammed. “She pressed the emergency button and staff talked to her the whole time to reassure her that help was on the way so she didn’t panic.

“While she was in there on her own she was fine and kept her cool as she had her mobile with her. Firefighters were called and Brooke made her way out safely, laughing it all off. She went on to enjoy the rest of her Friday night as planned.”

Brooke was staying at the Abode Hotel near Manchester’s Piccadilly station, when the alarm was raised.

The 25-year-old is one of Corrie’s most popular cast members, after working on the soap for 13 years. A spokesman for the star said: “Brooke was staying at a hotel in central Manchester, and the lift did get stuck as she left. She took it all in good humour, and was out within 40 minutes.”

A source added: “The hotel manager has offered Brooke a free night’s stay to make up for the incident.” Brooke, who is dating Manchester City rising star Kean Bryan, 19, following the end of her four-year romance in January with Chelsea player Josh Mceachran, 24, is facing another hotel mishap. She revealed she has booked a hotel for an upcoming wedding in Lake Como, nearly four hours away from the venue. kim.carr@ trinitymirror.com
