Gun victim ‘still serious’

A MAN shot in a ganglandst­yle hit remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

The victim, who has no involvemen­t in crime, is being treated at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, Co Louth.

He was ambushed in the driveway of his home in Stamullen, Co Meath, by a lone gunman wearing a balaclava who fired eight shots on Thursday night.

The victim was hit in the elbow and stomach and was still conscious when paramedics arrived.

A blue Seat Leon was later found with a handgun on the passenger seat.
