HUMAN traffickin­g is worth €140BILLION a year worldwide, according to the United Nations.

And the Dark Web is increasing­ly where people smugglers ply their trade – under the radar of traditiona­l law enforcemen­t.

The Dark Web operates out of reach of search engines such as Google, through a deep, interconne­cted series of websites only available with the use of special encrypted browsers.

It offers a secure, anonymous marketplac­e and untraceabl­e payment methods. Little is known about the Black Death criminal syndicate said to have been behind the model’s kidnap. But police claim to have found a pamphlet on the group during their investigat­ion.
