Beach swim ban is lifted

-

A SWIMMING ban at Claremont Beach in Howth, Co Dublin, was removed yesterday.

Fingal County Council said it lifted the bar which had been in place since Wednesday after officials found raised ecoli levels.

A council spokesman said: “The cause of the contamination has not been determined but it is believed it is not related to wastewater infrastructure and may have been caused by animals, birds or diffuse surface run-off.”
