1 in 4 hacking attacks now aimed at computer games
A QUARTER of all attempts to hack personal financial details are now aimed at popular computer game apps.
A study which monitored 100,000 phones and laptops found 26 per cent of phishing attempts targeted gamers. Hit games, including Top Eleven – Be a Soccer Manager, Star Wars: Tiny Death Star and Minecraft are all being hacked to get at bank accounts and credit cards. Experts warn Europe’s millions of gamers are increasingly at risk.
The study by data specialist Wandera found most other hacking was aimed at sports, weather, social media, messaging and dating apps.
