I’d been fairly active all my life, enjoying mountaineering, skiing and squash. But for the past five years I’d had pain in both knees and was diagnosed with osteoarthritis.

I tried acupuncture, but it wasn’t getting any better. So I investigated surgery. I opted for custom-made knee replacements from Conformis and had both done simultaneously. My operation took place in December 2016 at Spire St Anthony’s Hospital in South London. My surgeon Mr Ajeya Adhikari did it in less than three hours.
