SUNDAY

- By Clare Balding

Sundays tend to start with me doing Radio 2 and then writing my column for Waitrose Weekend.

I definitely make sure I fit more in over the summer months because the daylight hours are longer, so I make sure I get a good walk in with our dog Archie.

Ideally this would be followed by a bike ride or a round of golf with my wife Alice and our two nephews. They are 10 and eight and very keen. With Sundays being a busy day for sport I can often find myself working, but if I’m not away they’re always spent with Alice.

In the winter I love to go out for Sunday lunch and those shorter days are also a great chance to catch up on films or box sets.

If I’m really lucky, the perfect Sunday ends with supper at my brother’s house, made by Anna Lisa, my sister-in-law, who is an amazing cook.

Clare will be at Epsom Downs Racecourse on Bank Holiday Monday August 28 for the Superhero Family Fun Day signing copies of her new book The Racehorse Who Wouldn’t Gallop, out Sept 21. Under-18s go free.
