Cash taken after petrol station raid

-

GARDAI are appealing for information following a suspected armed robbery.

The raider struck at Jones Oil in Tea Lane in Portlaoise, Co Laois, when a man, armed with what is believed to be a gun, entered the premises at around 6pm on Friday.

Gardai said: “A male entered [the] oil station with what appeared to be a rifle with a suppressor, placed it in a window towards the cashier and demanded they opened the door.

“Another cashier opened the door, letting a male into [the] cash room.”

The man took money from a till and put it in a grey G4S security bag. He then fled in the direction Grattan Street.
