Gylfi’s on his way to Goodison
GYLFI SIGURDSSON will finally seal his move to Everton this week – setting off two other big-money transfers.
The Iceland midfielder will get the green light to complete his £50million switch to Merseyside after the deal had been dragged out with Swansea trying to source a replacement.
Swans manager Paul Clement will now make a £20m move for unsettled Nacer Chadli at West Brom, who was left out of the Baggies’ pre-season tour.
Boss Tony Pulis did not want to lose him but was not prepared to disrupt the squad’s preparations.
The Baggies are set to turn a profit on the sale of the Belgian playmaker, just 12 months after he became their £13m record signing from Tottenham.
It leaves Pulis’ squad looking dangerously thin but the club say they will move into the market significantly during the next three weeks.
Sigurdsson’s transfer will also open the door for Spurs to make their long-awaited move for Everton’s Ross Barkley.
