ROSE RANT SO THORNY
PLENTY of people at Tottenham will have been annoyed by Danny Rose’s remarkable rant this week.
Mauricio Pochettino and Daniel Levy were, no doubt, angered by the left-back’s comments, in which he complained about being underpaid and that it could be a “long, miserable” season for Spurs.
However, the poor sod running Tottenham’s official Twitter account must have been particularly furious.
On Tuesday, five days before Tottenham’s Premier League curtain raiser, the club tweeted a picture of Jan Vertonghen, Spurs’ No.5, pointing to his number, accompanied by the message “5 days to go!”.
On Wednesday, with four days to go, they did the same with Toby Alderweireld, the Spurs No.4. Then, on Thursday, with three days to go… nothing. So, why had the countdown abruptly come to an end?
Well, Rose’s interview was published on Thursday morning. And who is Tottenham’s No.3?
Yep. Awkward…
