- BY BRYNMOR PATTISON

AN Irish woman and her Egyptian husband killed themselves in a suicide drowning pact, it is believed.

Jennifer Marie Boutros, 60, and her 43-year-old husband Peter George were found in a swimming pool at an Egyptian resort.

In a video message the pair said: “Tomorrow we will become angels in heaven.” The grim incident took place

in a friend’s villa in the city of Hurghada on the Red Sea coast.

Mr Boutros, an Egyptian national, was a computer programmer while Jennifer Marie held dual US and Irish citizenship.

Major General Hossam Kamal said police initially thought the pair had been murdered.

But they found a video in which the couple said they were killing themselves to see if there was a world after death.

It is understood the camera was in a fixed position in the pool and recorded the deaths.

Al Arabiya reported a message from the couple said: “Sweetheart, this is our last night in this world.

“Our spirits are not happy on earth and deserve to live in a happy eternal life.”

Nothing had been stolen from the villa and there were no other indications of a disturbance.

It is unclear when the tragedy happened but first reports were out on Friday.
