Noel body to return home

THE family of a young Irishman shot dead after a suspected carjacking in Mexico has travelled to the country to bring home his remains.

Noel Maguire, 29, from Clogherhead in Co Louth, died in a shooting incident in Lazaro Cardenas, Michoacan, on Tuesday.

The victim was travelling with his American girlfriend and was said to be defending her when he was shot three times.

Police have launched a murder investigation.
