MY PERFECT SUNDAY

- By Jo Joyner

It would start with my little boy coming in for cuddles.

A bit later my sleepy little girl will come in and I’ll get the double cuddle.

In the afternoon we might go for a big walk. I grew up in the countryside and I’m happy to have brought my kids back home to the same village.

The pub will be involved at some point. There’s a park right opposite our beer garden so on a sunny weekend it’s full of kids.

But my perfect Sunday would actually be wet and windy outside. I think Sunday roasts lend themselves to a roaring log fire and red wine.

One of my most treasured inheritances is from my Nanna who sadly had Alzheimer’s – her carving fork. That tradition of a Sunday roast has been passed down to me and I carry it on with pride!
