Nanny’s mum lashes out at Mel B
THE mum of Mel B’s former nanny has launched a fiery attack on the Spice Girl for branding her daughter “a homewrecker”.
Singer Mel claimed in court papers that German au pair Lorraine Gilles got pregnant by her husband Stephen Belafonte, 42.
Lorraine, 26, denies the baby was Belafonte’s – and issued a lawsuit alleging she was encouraged by Mel to have threesomes with the couple, filmed on mobile phones.
Lorraine’s mum Angelika says her daughter now lives in constant fear of attack from the singer’s fans.
Angelika, 54, said in an open letter to the Sunday Mirror: “My husband and I are shocked. Never did we dream Mel B was dragging our daughter into her sex and alcohol lifestyle.
“She was 18 at the time and Mel was 35. Her own daughter is 18 now. Would she want her to be in the position our daughter was in? I had thought she was in good hands.” Angelika spoke of her fears for Lorraine after the claims she broke up Mel’s marriage. She said: “I’m afraid something is going to happen. She had threats. “Lorraine does not have the privilege to live in a villa with security or a bodyguard like Mel B. She is a girl trying to live a normal life.” Mel, 42, has said she was coerced into threesomes by Belafonte during their 10-year marriage. She made the claim in court papers when she won an order stopping him visiting their Hollywood home. Lorraine claims Leeds-born Mel paid for her abortion in 2014. She continued working for her until September last year. Angelika said: “We spoke via Skype and talked to Mel B a lot. She told us Lorraine takes care of her children very well and is a loving person.” Mel has filed a 47-page rebuttal in an LA court calling Lorraine’s case “frivolous”. scoops@trinity mirror.com
