Shop’s staff assaulted in armed raid

TWO shop workers were attacked before raiders escaped with a large amount of merchandise in an armed robbery.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses after the men, believed to have had a knife, targeted Spar on Clogher Road in Crumlin, South Dublin, around 30 minutes after it had closed on Thursday night.

It is understood the gang pounced as staff were locking up before threatening and assaulting them.

The raiders then fled the store with a large amount of stock.

The workers were taken to St James’s Hospital where they were treated for minor injuries.
