Gibson is Brit of all right for City

MANCHESTER CITY will launch a £20million bid for Middlesbrough defender Ben Gibson if they fail to land Jonny Evans from West Brom.

Boro chairman Steve Gibson, who is the player’s uncle, would love to keep his nephew on Teesside but knows that could prove difficult if City come calling.

Guardiola is anxious to bring in a Brit to meet Premier League rules on the number of homegrown players.

But Boro are set to reward Gibson (above) for his loyalty to his hometown club by giving him a bumper pay rise.
