MY PERFECT SUNDAY

- By Newton Faulkner

This time of year I don’t really get a normal weekend as I’m playing all the festivals.

However, I had a genuinely perfect Sunday just recently.

My son woke up very excited and jumped on my head, then after our favourite breakfast of porridge, we went to Victoria Park in London and played frisbee for about seven hours.

The park is one of our favourite places to hang out. If you get bored with frisbee, you can rent a pedalo, although my son did drive us into a fountain once! On this particular Sunday we took a picnic and had ice cream.

In the evening we ended up buying a Lego game for the Playstation and getting a Chinese takeaway. It was ideal. My little boy tends to be in bed at 7.30pm and I’ll confess I fell asleep too.

Normally I stick a movie on and play guitar while I’m watching. If my brother is round, he joins in on bass.

New album Hit The Ground Running is out on September 1 – Battenburg Records / Absolute.
