High voltage secrets of the stars

-

George Michael had become “really confused” towards the end of his life, according to long-time friend Pete Waterman. “We go back before Wham!, George and I. He was a guy who had the world but it passed him by,” says Pete at the 35th anniversary PWL Hit Factory show at Blackpool’s Livewire festival. “Towards the end he had become very confused, really confused by it all. His star was so high but when it came down to it, he couldn’t breathe the air, it was almost impossible.” Indie hitmakers The Sherlocks play Reading and Leeds Festival this weekend. Guitarist Josh Davidson says they are throwing a massive party to celebrate their debut album Live For The Moment being in the top 10. What’s the most rock ‘n’ roll moment you’ve ever had? It would have to be us getting rowdy in a hotel once – we cracked open a few bottles of JD and started having press-up competitions, placing bets and cheering people on. Next minute the police walked in the room and we thought that was time to call it a night. How will you celebrate being in the top 10? We’re going to have a big party after Leeds on the tour bus travelling to Reading – we’ve worked hard, I think we deserve a party. What’s the most expensive thing you’ve ever bought? Instagram sensation HRVY popped into Watts The Goss this week. The Kent singer, 18, who has 1.2million followers, has toured with Little Mix and plans to follow in the footsteps of Justin Bieber. He tells me: “Justin is incredible.” Check out mirror.co.uk to see HRVY sing a capella. Debut EP Holiday is out now. Fame? Check. Fortune? Check. Fabulous fashion and film careers? Check. String of failed flings? Check, check and check again. “I think I’ve probably fallen for cocky guys. Usually they haven’t been as nice,” she says. “Usually a man with cockiness and that kind of thing… it’s a doubleedged sword in a way.” Unlucky-in-love Cara has just turned 25 – and celebrated with 12 girl pals on a raucous €100,000 starstudded getaway to Mexico. The last man she was publicly linked to was bad-boy actor Jack O’connell, 27, who she dated in 2014, after her break-up with stunning actress Michelle Rodriguez, 39.

Before that she dated singer songwriter Jake Bugg, 23, in 2013 – and turned down an invitation from Leonardo Dicaprio to be his girlfriend months later.

She also briefly dated One Direction star Harry Styles, 23, in 2012.

But despite getting her fingers burned, Cara refuses to give up.

“Yeah, I do believe in a one and only love,” she says.

“One and only is when you find love and you find that person who sees you for who you are, and you see them and you lift each other up and yeah, you want to spend the rest of your life with them.” Awww. The Valerian actress has been single since splitting from girlfriend St Vincent, 34, last September. The US singer was reported to have grown weary of Cara’s love of partying. But while her lifestyle is far from conventional, Cara is determined to one day walk down the aisle. She says: “Marriage to me, it’s about commitment – that relationship, the trust. “It’s something, as a young girl, you always think… ‘One day I’m going to get married.’ “But who knows?” Who, indeed?
