Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice PS4, Windows Hellblade thrusts you into a murky evil fantasy world packed with mind-boggling puzzles and terrifying monsters.

The storyline centres around troubled Senua, played by you in a third-person camera, who is battling demons – in her mind. Throughout the game, you can hear the often haunting, self-critical and sometimes helpful voices in Senua’s head.

Unfortunately, the game’s linear design and lack of multiplayer means that replay value is limited.

In an age of open-world gaming, levels can also feels, at times, restrictive on where you can go and the options you have to proceed with the story.

However, a stand-out plus point is the atmosphere, set by the eerie sounds, tense music and incredible graphics.

Its Celtic and Norse mythology puzzles are tough

APP and have a gritty Tomb Raider feel to them. Combat is incredible and a real joy to play.
