MAYO manager Stephen Rochford stuck it to his critics at Croke Park and said afterwards ‘he didn’t lose any sleep’ at being labelled a ‘donkey’.
One national newspaper claimed Mayo were ‘lions led by donkeys’ after their draw with Kerry last weekend, a play on the old World War 1 phrase.
The criticism centred on Rochford’s use of Aidan O’shea at full-back in the stalemate - but O’shea played there again yesterday and had a stormer on Kieran Donaghy.
