Euros. I travelled over with my two friends from home, Gerard and Gary, we’re friends all our lives and we played football together.

“And we said it’s a once in a lifetime experience we’ll go for it.

“The atmosphere is absolutely unbelievable. The weigh-in and everything about the build-up is like nothing I’ve ever experienced before.”

And asked about whether Las Vegas had been taken over, Martin said: “Definitely, every corner you turn, even the Yanks, once they hear the accent they’re like, ‘Oh my God you’re Irish’ and the atmosphere and singsongs have been unreal.

“And every corner you look there’s someone you know or there’s someone who know’s a friend of a friend and it’s one big party. We’re here since Wednesday and the craic is brilliant and we love it.”

And Alan O’connor, 34, a painter and decorator from Cork City said: “We booked it a couple of weeks before the fight was announced.

“So it was just pot luck the fight happened the same time we were here. My wife is here as well.

“The tickets were very expensive at $800 (€670) but anyway I prefer to be in a bar with the atmosphere.

“We’re trying to get tickets for the Mcgregor after- party [at Encore Beach Club].”

Meanwhile, Colm Kelly from Lucan, Dublin and Evin Keane from Laois and Cathal Costelo from Louth were soaking up the atmosphere after a very memorable DADDY COOL Tony Mcgregor summer. Colm said: “We’ve been on a road trip for the last three weeks, we arrived here on Thursday. “We’ve driven down the West coast from Seattle so we got to see a good few things and went through San Francisco and San Diego. Cathal added: “We’ve been on a J1 the last two months and we were in New York and Colm was in Boston. Mcgregor was up in New York on the press tour except we missed out on him for the promotional tour, so it’s really good to have seen him now. It just worked out lovely as we’re due to head home on Monday and we just got to see the fight.

“Even the Americans are mad for Mcgregor.”

Evin said: “Everyone we know that’s been over on the J1 everyone has been here for the fight, everyone changed their plans and everything, most people I know have been talking about it for months.”
