City calm Ster fears
MANCHESTER CITY moved quickly to assure Raheem Sterling that his future is at the Etihad.
City were furious at suggestions they had offered the England winger in part-exchange for Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez.
Sporting Director Txiki Begiristain called Sterling, 22, immediately to tell him that he remains a key part of Pep Guardiola’s plans.
Sterling appreciated Begiristain’s message. But he had a nightmare in England’s 4-0 victory over Malta on Friday night and was replaced by Marcus Rashford at half-time.
Sterling was signed by City from Liverpool for £49million in 2015.
